The story goes that, in 1989, Charlie Thompson a ‘Bassett Traveller’ was selling his products to a Leicester wholesaler and knocked them all over. The wholesaler had been unimpressed with the individual sweets but liked the look of the ‘mix’ – Liquorice Allsorts were born.
